Shoesday!

We were raising money for charity today.  We donated a pound and then we could wear our own shoes to school.

Quarters

We love to make Maths hands-on as much as possible. We have been doing lots of work recently on fractions and it has been a perfect opportunity to do lots of practical activities.  We were really good at using the unifix cubes to explore lots of different ways of showing a quarter. We made some interesting shapes and learnt that although the shape might look different, there was still one quarter that was represented by using a different coloured cube.

Lego Houses

Yesterday we had great fun testing different materials to see how waterproof they were. We were trying to find out which was the best material for a waterproof roof for a Lego house.  We discovered that the plastic wallet was the best material for building a Lego house roof because it was very waterproof and the plastic did not break like some of the other materials we tested.

Healthy Living Week

We had a great week for Healthy Living Week and did a whole host of different activities. Here is a photo of us at a workshop led by Mrs Rees who is a dietician. She told us all about vegetables and the vitamins they contain. We studied the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo. Firstly, we had a go at arranging the fruit and vegetables to make faces. Then we used the fruit and vegetables to do some printing. Here is some of our artwork.
