Non-uniform on Wednesday 03.10.18 for 1GH

As a reward for achieving 100% attendance for a whole week, 1GH will be able to come to school in non-uniform on Wednesday 3rd October 2018.  Well done 1GH!  Let's keep it up! Now for the boring bit...please remember the children will still need sensible shoes and warm clothes for playtimes.

Forest School

We have been having a great time in our Forest School sessions on a Friday.  Our class have received high praise from our Forest School leader for changing promptly, being sensible and engaging in all of the activities. This is us at Base Camp awaiting our instructions from Robbie. Here we are guiding our partner around the Forest School area. Our partner had to have lots of trust in us as they had their eyes closed whilst we directed them around Forest School.

Posting A Letter

As part of our Geography work this half term we have been exploring maps of the local area and looking at addresses.  We wrote our name and address (in our very best handwriting) on an envelope and headed out in to the afternoon sunshine to post them.  The children are looking forward to them dropping through their letter boxes in the coming days.  Please return the envelopes to school so that the children can share them with the class and stick them into their Geography books.  If you'd like to post a letter or card with your child we'd love to receive some of them at school.  Our address is: Class 1GH Swan Lane First School, Rynal Street, Evesham, WR11 4QA

Sound Walk

After reading our Book Of The Week 'Peace At Last', we went on a sound walk around the school grounds.  We listened carefully to the different sounds around our school, completed a chart and then shared our findings with our friends.  The children heard a ringing bell, rustling leaves and a ticking clock, to name but a few.  Ask your child what they heard on the sound walk...

A Toy Adventure

To support our Big Writing the week, the children brought their favourite toys into school and we went on a toy adventure.  A lot of fun was had by all and Friday's writing was fantastic too!

Welcome to Year One!

Over the past few weeks we have been busy settling into Year One.  The children have been finding their trays and pegs, working hard in daily Numeracy and Literacy lessons and learning a whole host of new routines! The class have settled quickly and we are very much looking forward to the year ahead. If you would like to discuss anything with us please come and see us, either before school or after.  Our classroom door is always open... Mrs. Gent and Mrs. Hurst
