What a giggle!

We looked at James Carter's website as a class and had great fun reading through and performing lots of his poems. We really liked the poems that are written in the shape of what the poem is about like this football one.
What
Can You
Do With A
Football
?

Well...

You can
kick it you can catch
it you can bounce it – all
around. You can grab it you can
pat it you can roll it – on the ground.
You can throw it you can head it you
can hit it – with a bat. You can biff it
you can boot it you can spin it you
can shoot it you can drop it
you can stop it – just
like that!

Funny Faces!
Can you do a big smile?
Can you do a wink?
Can you do a little nod?
Can you do a blink?

Can you shut your left eye?
Can you shut your right?
Can you wiggle both your ears?
Can you take a bite?

Can you wrinkle up your nose?
Can you lick your chin?
Can you puff your cheeks up?
Can you do a grin?

Can you pull a funny face?
Can you roll your tongue?
Can you do these one more time -
faces are fun!

We lost count of the number of times we performed this one. Here are some photos of us displaying our funny faces.

Warwick Castle

Yesterday, we had the most amazing day at Warwick Castle. When we first arrived we headed up the towers and did the rampart walk. Some of us were nervous about climbing all those spiral stairs and getting to the top. But we were very proud of ourselves and it was a great sense of achievement and relief when we got to the bottom of the last tower. Next was the maze. We collected our 'Time Passport' and set about finding the six periods of history and collected a stamp from each one. We had a giggle taking these photos and finding out some interesting facts about the Gunpowder Plot. After we had collected our prize, we then headed to meet the bowman. He was very entertaining and told us lots about medieval warfare. We really enjoyed watching him try and hit the target. He made it look much easier than it actually is. Whilst we had our lunch we watched the amazing Falconer's Quest Birds of Prey display. It was quite a spectacle and having...

Rockets and Disco!

Last Thursday, was full of excitement. Firstly, we were lucky enough to have a real scientist who let off a rocket on the school field. We were told beforehand to run if the rocket came our way, and guess what.. it did! So we scarpered in all directions, but luckily it ended up in a tree and not on us! It was great fun. And the fun didn't stop there...Lots of us came back to school later for the disco. Whilst it was really hot in the hall, this did not stop us from dancing with our friends the whole time.    Some of the photos are a bit blurry as the camera didn't like the lights and rapid movements but we like the action shots as they capture the fun that was had by all. And to finish off the disco was of course the snow machine!
