Baptism

In R.E we have been looking at the Christian ceremony of Baptism.  The children were invited to bring in items from their own Baptism or a Baptism they had been to, to share with the class.  We have really enjoyed discussing all of the different things.  Thank you to all of the parents that sent them in!

100% Attendance

As a reward for achieving 100% attendance for a whole week, 1GH will be able to come to school in non-uniform on Wednesday 28th November 2018.  Well done 1GH!   Please remember the children will still need sensible shoes and warm clothes for playtimes.

Have You Filled a Bucket Today?

Today we read the story ‘Have You Filled a Bucket Today?' This book introduces the idea that we all carry around an invisible bucket with us every day. The bucket's purpose is to hold good thoughts and good feelings about ourselves. We talked about how we can fill ours and other people’s buckets by carrying out acts of kindness. Mrs Hurst set us the challenge to achieve one act of kindness this afternoon. If we have achieved this, then we will have brought a certificate home with us. The challenge does not end there. Mrs Hurst has asked us to show kindness and fill up the buckets of those people at home. Please send in any examples of this as we would love to hear about how our lesson on kindness is spreading beyond the school gates.

What a giggle!

We looked at James Carter's website as a class and had great fun reading through and performing lots of his poems. We really liked the poems that are written in the shape of what the poem is about like this football one. What Can You Do With A Football ? Well... You can kick it you can catch it you can bounce it – all around. You can grab it you can pat it you can roll it – on the ground. You can throw it you can head it you can hit it – with a bat. You can biff it you can boot it you can spin it you can shoot it you can drop it you can stop it – just like that!
